Introducing The Wellness Financial Fund
Throughout April in 2025, I hosted an International Black Women’s History Month sale. Part of that campaign was focused on collecting funds for Black women to be able to take advantage of the sale by being financially sponsored by folks within the community. The success of this campaign is what birthed my ongoing community aid plan, the Wellness Financial Fund.
My ultimate goal as an Intersectional Wellness Educator is to ensure that folks who look like me have access to the education they need to liberate themselves.
Achieving body liberation can be difficult for folks who live in marginalized bodies, especially when it comes to hiring a team that has the skill set and knowledge to support folks with intersecting forms of marginalization. As a Certified Personal Trainer, I build custom and sustainable plans to help my clients create the relationship with their body and fitness they never knew they could have. Many of my training clients have experienced body-based trauma, live in larger bodies, deal with chronic pain, or have poor body image. The issue is, most trainers aren’t equipped to support folks with identities like these, but I have both the lived and professional experience.
It can also be fairly difficult for folks to find other wellness providers who do have the ability to offer trauma-informed, weight-inclusive, and disability inclusive care. Coffee Chats were designed to be a 1:1 wellness consultation for folks who may not be in need of my specific services, but would like my support creating sustainable wellness goals and finding the team or resources that can help them achieve those goals.
Contributions to the Wellness Financial Fund allow me to provide partial or full financial sponsorship to potential Personal Training and Coffee Chat clients, creating accessibility while also ensuring my needs are met as a small business owner. Financial support is prioritized for Black women, but anyone is eligible to request sponsorship!
Thank you in advance for being a part of this form of mutual aid. If you cannot financially contribute, sharing my work is a fabulous way to support these efforts! I’m hoping to raise $3,100 for the fund by my 31st birthday on May 22 🩵
